Terms of Service
These terms apply to your use of Numispics at numispics.com (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.
1. The Service
Numispics removes the background from coin and medal photos and lays them out as product images (for example a composite of the obverse and reverse, single-side pictures, batch files and spin animations). Anyone can upload and process photos; downloading finished images requires signing in with a Google account. The Service is currently free.
2. Your photos
- You keep ownership. You keep all rights to the photos you upload and the images made from them.
- Permission to process. You give us permission to store, process and display your photos only as needed to provide the Service to you. This permission ends when the files are deleted, which happens automatically (see our Privacy Policy).
- Your responsibility. You must own the photos or have permission to use them, and they must not break any law or anyone else’s rights.
3. Honest listings
Numispics changes the background and staging only; it does not alter a coin’s surface. You are responsible for how you use the results: images used to sell or describe a coin must represent it honestly, and you must not use the Service to misrepresent a coin’s condition, authenticity, grade or identity. Graded coins should be shown as required by the marketplace you sell on.
4. Acceptable use
Please don’t:
- upload anything illegal, harmful, or that you don’t have the right to use;
- use the Service to create misleading or fraudulent listings or images;
- try to break, overload, scrape or get around the Service’s protections, including the sign-in required for downloads;
- resell or offer the Service itself to others without our written permission.
We may limit, suspend or block access that breaks these terms or harms the Service or others.
5. Accounts
Signing in uses your Google account. You are responsible for activity under your sign-in. You can sign out at any time.
5a. Plans and payments
- Free and paid use. Making and previewing images is free. Each plan — Free, Collector and Dealer — includes a number of downloads each calendar month and, on the paid plans, batches of up to a set number of coins, as described on the Pricing page (numispics.com/pricing) and shown in the account menu. A batch download counts one download per coin in it.
- Billing. Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly (or yearly, where offered), at the price shown when you subscribe, plus any applicable taxes, through our payment processor Stripe. A plan renews automatically each period until you cancel.
- Switching and cancelling. You can switch plans or cancel at any time from “Manage subscription” in the account menu. A cancelled plan stays on until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and you won’t be charged again. When you switch, Stripe adjusts the charge for the rest of the period.
- Refunds. Payments are not refundable for partly used months, except where the law requires otherwise. If something went wrong with a charge, contact us and we’ll sort it out.
- Price changes. We may change the price of a plan. We’ll tell you at least 30 days before a new price applies to you, and you can cancel before then.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, a plan may be paused until the payment goes through.
6. Results and availability
Automatic background removal is not perfect: edges, shadows or fine details may need checking. Please review every image before you use it. We may change, pause or stop the Service, or any part of it, at any time, and files are deleted automatically after a short time — download anything you need promptly.
7. No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Numispics and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, sales, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim (which, while the Service is free, is zero). Some places don’t allow these limits, so they apply only as far as the law permits.
9. Indemnity
You agree to cover any claims, losses or costs arising from photos you upload or how you use the images, to the extent caused by your breach of these terms or of the law.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed; continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. General
If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. Our not enforcing a term isn’t a waiver of it. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
